| This restaurant (the name translates to Five Flies) occupies five adjoining 17th century houses. The cuisine is contemporarily Dutch. A lot of tourists and businessmen come here, but it doesn't mean the place is a tourist trap or ultra-expensive. Certainly for the price, you get the quality of the food here. | |||||

| The modern decor may lead you to think that this place serves Westernised Indonesian food, but the fact is that the food here is pretty authentic. Service can be a bit slow but then the wait is worth it (and you don't want to be rushed out of the restaurant after a nice meal!). Very pleasant and worth checking it out. | |||||

| Thai food has always been expensive (but not always good) in London, and so it's a delight to find this little restaurant in Amsterdam that serves excellent Thai food at very reasonable price. The set menu is good value-for-money and you do get a lot out of it. But if you are adventurous enough, go for the a-la-carte. Their satay is one of the best you can find in Europe--- nicely marinated and their home-made peanut sauce is just divine. They are so friendly there that they are quite happy to share their recipes and invite you into the kitchen also--- they told me that they would be quite happy to have customers going there to learn how to prepare the dishes before the restaurant opens or on a quieter evening. | |||||

| A typical large Chinese restaurant that would not be out of place even in Hong Kong. The menu is pretty extensive (extra menu to choose from if you can read Chinese!) and the standard is high. Apparently this is a popular place for the local Chinese community, so that's always a good sign. | |||||
