Considered as one of the best steak houses in Argentina, and that speaks volume, considering that Argentinean beef is renowned across the world. The restaurant is situated in the Puerto Madero area, and you can choose to sit outside facing the waterfront. Start off with the "Empanadas Las Lilas" which is described as veal roll, but looks and tastes more like veal samosa - not a problem unless you are not keen on samosa in the first place. Then proceed to a steak of your choice and pick some side dishes such as Souffle Fries. Be warned - the Bife de Costilla (Club Steak) comes in a large Flintstone portion, but it tastes so good that you would want to finish it. If your stomach still has any space left afterwards, by all means go for a dessert. My advice to this restaurant? Forget breakfast and lunch, and come empty stomach for a true carnivore experience at dinnertime.

Founded in 1858, this is one of the oldest cafes in Argentina. The place can get very busy as locals and tourists converge at this famous landmark - sometimes you may have to queue outside as the traffic at the door is controlled by the manager. Food is simple but good here. In the evenings there are tango shows at the back of the café.

The view from this restaurant is unbeatable really - situated at the end of the Puerto Madero, it offers a great view of the docks and the skyline. Whether that is enough to compensate for the high price is debatable. The dinner / tango show does not come cheap (ranging from 280 to 420 pesos, including a 3-course dinner, soft drinks and the show), and at that price I'd expect the dishes to be more exciting and the cooking better executed.
