Restaurant with a very nice terrace for al fresco dining - perfect for a warm summer evening. The foie gras spring roll was absolutely delicious and not too greasy - a problem that could very easily have been compounded by the fat of the ingredient vs the fat in frying the spring roll. The duck magret with cardamon and espresso sauce was a pleasant surprise - duck was tender, and the sauce looked more like a rich red wine sauce, and had a very nice taste. One of the signature dishes at this eatery is the french fries cooked in duck fat - it was nice and crispy. Forget the health warnings - just order a portion even when you are not hungry. You won't be disappointed.

This is one of the most well-known restaurants in Montreal - from the outside the restaurant looks modern enough, but the inside décor looks rather dated (circa 1970s). The service was rather slow even on a relatively quiet evening - this resulted in a prolonged stay at the restaurant after ordering the tasting menu. The dishes were of variable quality: There were 2 amuse-bouches - the oyster was very fresh, while the cold tomato soup with herb foam looked better than the taste. The crab roll and avocado with sesame, bell pepper with lemon sauce was slightly fishy but it was refreshing enough; the cold crab soup with fried bread and garlic and dill was a bit too salty for my liking; Squab with onion, almond and strawberries was nicely flavoured even though the meat was a little tough; the beef fillet was also a bit tough, and it was accompanied by spinach, zucchini, shiitake mushrooms, asparagus and sabayon. The dessert managed to redeem some of the problems in the starters and main courses - the fresh strawberries with white chocolate ganache, vanilla chips sprinkled on top with strawberry sorbet was very light and refreshing, and it was a good way to end a rather long meal.

Restaurant serving modern European cuisine by Laurent Godbout - the restaurant has a warm cosy ambience with lounge music playing in the background, and the staff are friendly enough. Many dishes on the menu have an interesting mix of ingredients - the Pina Colada Giant Prawn starter was served in a tall glass, with crushed ice and pina colada at the bottom of the glass, various seafood in a pink seafood sauce filled up the rest of the glass, and topped with a deep-fried prawn in breadcrumbs. The result was an interesting mix of flavours and textures, and the refreshing pina colada at the bottom serves as a mouth-cleanser at the end of the starter. The main course of crispy salmon with jerusalem artichoke was nice enough, even though the rather thick piece of salmon makes it tricky to cook properly - overcooked on the outside and still completely raw on the inside.
