| In terms of quality, this may not be the best, but the service is very friendly. In addition to Ohmi beef, you get other ingredients such as dry mushroom, straw mushroom, beancurd, etc in your sukiyaki. Depending on your personal taste, the waitress will adjust the amount of sugar, soy sauce and fish broth in the sukiyaki sauce. The place opens from 4pm till midnight, and they give a discount if you come before 7pm---- even without discount a portion of sukiyaki only costs 2800 yen. Apart from sukiyaki, they also serve Shabu-Shabu. | |||||

| This restaurant is hidden in the basement and is a specialist in tofu (bean-curd) dishes. All the courses are nicely presented. A perfect place for dinner to secure those business deals! | |||||

| The main branch of this sushi bar is at Tsukiji, where the biggest fish market in the world is located; however, there are many branches dotted around Tokyo and the rest of Japan. A good consistent place to go for sushi---- try the New York branch also (see the New York section). | |||||

| Tucked away in the basement on a quite little side street in the busy Ginza District, Torigin is an action-packed restaurant with very friendly local clients who are more than ready to practise their English. You can choose to sit either at the counter (and learn how to make yakitori) or at the table. The 2650-yen set dinner includes 14 different skewers for you to sample. In addition, from October to March, they have sparrow yakitori also and that's worth trying. Order one portion of the kamameshi (kettle steamed rice, which is the other speciality at this restaurant) on top and that will be sufficient for 2 very hungry people. | |||||

| Unless you come really early, the chance of getting into this restaurant without queueing is slim. However, the queueing time is not too long. Once inside, you will be asked if you want to sit at the counter or at the tatami mat. If possible, choose the counter as you'll see how tempura is made and you'll get your tempura straight from the fryer. The 2600-yen set dinner is good value for money--- you get about 10 pieces of tempura, including large succulent pieces of king prawns, several pieces of fish, lotus root, mushroom, broccoli, and a massive prawn cake to finish. There are many other branches of this restaurant dotted around Tokyo, but the best is this main branch behind Mitsukoshi department store. | |||||
